15th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – B

Greeting

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ…
and has marked us with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit.
May the Lord be with you.

Introduction  and  Litany of Praise

A
We are all called and chosen by God.

From our very Baptism we are entrusted with Christ’s work of redeeming and transforming the world.

We rejoice in this trust, and renew our faith in him at this Eucharist.

Before the world was made we were chosen by the Father:

Lord, have mercy.

Through Christ’s blood we are freed from our sins:

Christ, have mercy.

The richness of grace has been showered upon us:

Lord, have mercy.

B
The Lord makes us all sharers in the task of building his kingdom on earth. Do we do our part or do we leave it to others? Let us now examine ourselves.   (pause)

Lord, you call men and women from all walks of life to proclaim and bear witness to your saving love:

Lord, have mercy.

Lord, you tell those you send to live lightly on the earth,
and you invite them to rely on your protection:

Christ, have mercy.

Lord, we have a duty to listen to your messengers because they prophesy in your name.

Lord, have mercy.

Opening Prayer

A
God of justice,
God of salvation,
from every land you call a people to yourself.
Yours is the work we do,
yours the message we carry.

Keep your church single-minded and faithful to you.
Let failure not discourage us
nor success beguile our hearts,
as you send us to proclaim the gospel.

We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.  AMEN.

B
Let nothing, O God, be dearer to us than your Son,
no worldly possessions,
no human honors;
let us prefer nothing whatever to Christ,
who alone makes known to the world the mystery of your love
and reveals the true dignity of every human person.

Pour forth on us the full measure of your Spirit,
that by word and deed we may proclaim Christ,
in whom you grant forgiveness and redemption on all.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.   AMEN.

                             GENERAL  INTERCESSIONS

P       Let us pray that we may listen with faith to the message of Christ, proclaim what we believe, and practice what we proclaim.

CM      Our response is:       Lord, keep us faithful to your word.

Please repeat:

1          That Christians everywhere may  involve themselves in the saving work of Christ:  we pray:

2          That missionaries and all who work for the spread of the Gospel may be strengthened in their task: we pray:

3          That Filipino Catholic migrants bear witness to their faith by the quality of their lives and their loving service: we pray:

4          That our politicians and church leaders may listen to the voices of those prophetic people who speak the truth in love:  we pray:

P       Loving Father, may everything we do begin with your inspiration, continue with your help, and reach perfection under your guidance. We ask this through Christ our Lord.  AMEN.

Prayer over the Gifts

Remember, Lord,
that your Son, our peace and reconciliation,
has washed away the sin of the world through his blood.
Look with favor on your Church’s offering
and grant that we, who set our hope in Christ,
might live for the praise of his glory.
This we ask through the same Christ our Lord.   AMEN.

Invitation to the Lord’s Prayer

God the Father has chosen us in Christ
to be his daughters and sons to carry out his plan.
For all this we praise him with Christ:

Deliver us, Lord

Deliver us, Lord, from every evil
and grant us peace in our day.

Keep us holy and blameless
and let us live for the praise of his glory,

as we wait in joyful hope
for the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ, your said to your disciples:

“Whatever house you enter, first say,
‘Peace to this house!’  “

Lord, look not on our sins
but on the faith of your Church
and grant us the peace of your kingdom
where you live for ever and ever.

Exchange of Peace

As adopted children of the God of peace,
let us share a sign of that peace with one another.

Optional Prayer to accompany the Breaking of Bread

May we become as this blessed bread,
a blessed people,
blessed and broken in the love and care of one another.

Invitation to Communion

A
In Christ we have redemption through his blood,
and the forgiveness of our trespasses.
Blessed are we to be invited to his altar-table.

B
Blessed be God who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing.
Truly blessed are we to be invited around this altar-table.

the gospel of our salvation,
and have been marked with the seal of the Holy Spirit.

May we, who set our hope on Christ,
live for the praise of his glory.
This we ask through the same Christ our Lord.  AMEN.
